A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MACK CAMERON UPON HIS INDUCTION INTO THE MISSISSIPPI SPORTS HALL OF FAME.

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron has been selected for induction into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron is recognized as one of the finest collegiate and amateur tennis players in the history of athletics in Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, with grit and determination, Mack Cameron overcame a physical handicap to become a superb athlete and renown tennis player; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron was rated the No. 1 singles player in Mississippi during his high school career; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron played in the high school singles championship for four consecutive years and won the state championship in his junior and senior years; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron had an outstanding collegiate career, leading Mississippi State University to SEC titles in the mid-1960's; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron's overall record, including tournaments, during his career at Mississippi State was a phenomenal 101 wins and only 15 losses; and

WHEREAS, while attending law school at Ole Miss, Mack Cameron coached the Ole Miss tennis team and led the team to its highest level of play; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron raised funds for the first tennis scholarships ever offered by Ole Miss; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron is a member of the Mississippi State University Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron is a dedicated volunteer in his community and serves in a number of service and charitable organizations; and

WHEREAS, Mack Cameron's father, C.B. "Buck" Cameron, is a member of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and upon Mack's induction into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, they will become the first father-son combination to be inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we congratulate and commend Mack Cameron upon being inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Mack Cameron.
